Put the light over dinner
The pendant hangs over the centre of the round table, making a clear gathering point. A smaller lamp on the sideboard lights the back wall and gives the room a second level of evening light.

An illustrated concept for Copenhagen apartment dining room.
A round table and three upholstered chairs make an evening dining room in this Copenhagen apartment concept. Burgundy appears on the door and in the abstract, with a broad linen pendant above the plates.
See the product sourcesThe table is set for three, and the rest of the room leaves it alone. A round top gathers the chairs beneath one large pendant; serving pieces sit on the sideboard behind. The windows carry the blue of the evening, which makes the burgundy door and warm lamp light feel especially welcome. Bare boards run underneath the whole arrangement, with no rug edge for a dining chair to catch. The abstract repeats the door's red at the far end, carrying that warm colour across two walls.

Keep the floor continuous
Bare boards connect all three chairs to the rest of the room. The open floor also makes the route beside the table easy to see, with the sideboard holding the useful clutter at the far wall.
What to borrow
A compact dining room can take a generous pendant when it belongs clearly to the table. Check the view across the seats, then give serving dishes a separate nearby surface so the centre can stay available for dinner.
The architecture is an imagined European setting; linked product references are sourced for UK readers. Delivery to this setting has not been verified.
