An illustrated concept for Provençal stone-house bathroom.

A compact white basin projects from a simple wooden cabinet beside a deep stone window. The counter keeps a little space at each side, with a brass globe light adding warmth to the pale plaster.

The basin comes forward; the cabinet stays back. That small difference gives this Provençal bathroom concept a clear, useful edge without filling the whole room with furniture. A white ceramic bowl interrupts the timber front, and narrow stretches of counter remain for soap and a glass. The deep window reveal supplies the heavier texture, with warm plaster continuing around the mirror. Chrome crosshead controls and a ribbed glass wall light bring a little brightness to the stone and wood. A towel hangs beside the window, close to the place it would be needed.

A little counter is still useful

The semi-recessed basin projects beyond the cabinet front, leaving small areas of counter beside it. Those surfaces are enough to give everyday items defined places without making the vanity dominate the wall.

Keep the reveal in view

The cabinet ends clear of the deep window opening, so the stone thickness remains visible. The towel hangs on the intervening plaster, using a small area that would otherwise be easy to overlook.

What to borrow

For a compact vanity, compare the basin's projection with the cabinet depth and the remaining standing space. A semi-recessed shape may be useful, but the counter, waste and cabinet need to be designed as one compatible arrangement.
