Why we chose it
Christopher Farr’s green stripes give the reading chair its own patch of territory without asking the room to behave like a formal sitting room. At this scale, the rug is a deliberate accent beneath a chair, not a substitute for a rug large enough to gather a sofa group. 122 × 183cm. Product details
Designer: Christopher Farr Limited Edition of 150 Initially an abstract painter, the Slade School graduate won a Boise Traveling Fellowship to Peru in 1975. There, Farr was enraptured by pre-Columbian textiles and, determined to explore ways to marry his love of abstraction to ancient textile arts, he travelled to Western Turkey to learn rug making.
