Unpack in the coral guest bath

Published

A lowcountry porch house, conceived for Beaufort, SC.

The counter leaves room for a wash bag, and fresh towels have a visible shelf. Coral surrounds this Lowcountry guest bathroom's white vanity, with the shower kept to its own tiled end.

THE DESIGN

Coral makes the dry part of the bathroom feel like a room, while plain white tile gives the shower a practical background. The boundary is visible without a decorative strip explaining it. A tall shaded window brings daylight to the dry side; its privacy needs checking from outside as well as within.

The white vanity leaves a landing for a wash bag and a shelf for fresh towels. A dark mirror frame gives the wall a crisp outline; three glass shades concentrate light around the basin. The useful things are easy to find, which is a good beginning for a guest.

WHY THE ROOM WORKS

A white floating vanity gives a coral guest bathroom a calm center and leaves space for the person using it.

01

Space to unpack

The counter leaves room for someone else’s belongings.

02

A precise outline

The dark mirror frame keeps the coral wall clear.

03

A separate wet area

The shower does not consume the dry approach.

04

Daylight through a tall window

The shaded window brings daylight above the basin area. Check the actual outside sightlines and blind coverage before relying on it for privacy.

WHAT TO BORROW

Treat an empty patch of counter as part of the welcome.
