Keep the bed square to the room
The headboard sits on one flat wall. The rug follows that same axis, making the bed’s position easy to read before any decorative detail.

ROOM 05 · Bedroom
Plaster pink, burgundy textiles and golden blossom
The pink is easy to notice; the burgundy bedding is what gives it some backbone. A tall cream headboard holds the centre, while golden blossom above it stops the bedroom becoming an exercise in matching pink things.
See the product sourcesTHE DESIGN
Pink becomes more convincing when the room has some weight. The tall channelled bed, curved chestnut chest and walnut bedside pair supply it here. Cream upholstery holds the centre while burgundy gives the bedding a deeper edge.
Almond Blossom introduces ochre above the bed, with pale flowers that return to the upholstery. The picture makes the palette less predictable. Cane drawer panels, a lightly patterned rug and the broad brass mirror keep the remaining interest in the materials.
WHY THE ROOM WORKS
The headboard sits on one flat wall. The rug follows that same axis, making the bed’s position easy to read before any decorative detail.
Two bedside tables and two lamps give each side a useful landing place. The chest and mirror can then sit to one side without unsettling the room.
Ochre connects the pink walls to the warm timber without copying either. Burgundy stays mainly on the bed, so the palette still has distinct areas.
WHAT TO BORROW
Try a deeper textile and a warmer timber beside pink before deciding the room needs another paint colour. A well-chosen picture can make the final connection.

Cream upholstery with a strong panelled shape
Broad vertical panels across the headboard and footboard give Furnishion's Vienna bed a confident outline. The selected 4ft6 double frame is upholstered in Cream Plush velvet, with a wingback headboard, wooden frame and supporting slats. A tobacco-coloured wall, burgundy coverlet and blue ceramic lamps give the pale upholstery depth. This is the bed-only option; the mattress, bedding and other furniture in the styling image are separate.

Bedside tables
The walnut finish and woven rattan fronts give these bedside tables a contrast of tone and texture that works well with pale bedding. As a pair, they can give both sides of a bed a consistent starting point, with room to vary the lamps or accessories. Charging connections are included; the separate phone dock in the styling image is not.

A narrow bedside lamp with charging close by
A tall linen-textured shade and wood-grain base give this Aooshine lamp a simple, warm presence. The selected 14in model is listed at 35.5cm high with an 11.3cm base, touch-controlled brightness and USB-A and USB-C charging ports. It runs from mains power with a UK plug, and the listing includes an E27 warm-white LED bulb. Teal, walnut and a burgundy dish give the small lamp a richer bedside setting. One lamp is shown; surrounding furniture and accessories are styling.
