ROOM 67 · Children's Room
A teenage bedroom with a separate bed, study wall and pair of visiting chairs.
Chartreuse walls and violet chairs give this teenage room a more grown-up kind of energy. A pine bed, an oak desk and a separate place for friends allow sleep, schoolwork and company to share the space without becoming the same activity.

Teenage rooms have a social life that conventional bedroom layouts often ignore. If the only place to sit is the mattress, everything happens on the bed. This arrangement gives two purple Manhattan chairs their own place by the window, while the Barcelona pine bed and Bali desk occupy separate sides of the room.
The furniture is straightforward enough to accommodate changing tastes. Pine slats, oak drawer fronts and black metal legs provide the structure; chartreuse paint and strong pictures supply the more personal decisions. The desktop remains recognisable as a working surface, with drawers close enough to take the everyday accumulation.
Geometry with a Hangover and Stillness and Saturation bring different graphic rhythms above the bed. Tomato textiles pull a warmer note towards the foreground, and the white Chandan pendant leaves the ceiling comparatively quiet. The room has energy at several scales, but it still offers a route between sleeping, working and sitting with someone else.
WHY THE ROOM WORKS
The pair of violet chairs makes visiting feel planned for. Check the space with the chairs occupied before adding another occasional table.
The desk and chest share a timber and metal language. Keeping schoolwork here allows the bed to remain available for sleep.
Strong paint and artwork give the room its personality. The simple bed and storage do not depend on a short-lived character theme.
The rug follows the bed's direction and the central route stays visible. Several colours are easier to live with when the furniture arrangement is clear.
WHAT TO BORROW
Ask where a friend would sit, where a laptop would go and where clothes would land. A teenage bedroom needs answers to all three.
