Keep the stair route clear
The seat occupies the wider landing bay, beyond the path between the stairs and bedrooms.

ROOM 124 · Other
A edwardian family house, conceived for Cardiff.
The wider part of a landing is often left with a plant and no purpose. Wisteria, a slim upholstered bench and a lamp turn this Edwardian pause between rooms into somewhere useful to sit.
See the product sourcesTHE DESIGN
The seat occupies the bay beyond the main stair route. That distinction matters: furniture beside circulation can be useful, while furniture in circulation is an obstacle. The clear path to the bedroom doors remains visible.
Brown upholstery makes the bench distinct against wisteria. The little bedside-style table works just as well here, taking a lamp and a book without the depth of a console. A throw can wait on the bench for the colder part of the evening.
The Panni print brings a sharper graphic note to the soft wall colour. This is not intended as another sitting room. It is somewhere to wait for a child, finish a conversation or read a few pages away from the television downstairs.
WHY THE ROOM WORKS
The seat occupies the wider landing bay, beyond the path between the stairs and bedrooms.
Local light changes a circulation space into somewhere to wait or read.
The colour stays broad and calm while the graphic print supplies the sharper moment.
A narrow drawer takes a book and lamp without turning the landing into a second sitting room.
WHAT TO BORROW
Measure the bay beside the landing route, not the landing as a whole. A seat is useful only if the path between bedroom doors and stairs remains clear.
