Colour behind the headboard
Citron is concentrated on the bed wall. The neighbouring pale surfaces give the strong colour a clear edge without requiring more furniture or pattern.

ROOM 116 · Bedroom
A compact city flat, conceived for Glasgow.
There is one compact bedside here, because the second would cost too much passing space. The double bed remains the main piece, with citron on the wall behind it.
See the product sourcesTHE DESIGN
The footprint remains small. The bed is a double, not an undersized prop, and the route beside it is left visible. A compact bedside drawer does enough; filling the opposite side with a matching chest would make symmetry more important than movement.
Citron belongs behind the bed, where it can hold the composition together. White bedding keeps the large fabric surface calm, with a softer pink note in the quilt. The carpet supplies the quiet lavender-grey part of the palette below.
Pastel Poppies is a small piece of pleasure for a room that cannot accommodate much else. The portable lamp avoids a tangle of cables at the narrow bedside. Colour provides the character here, while the furniture accepts the size of the room.
WHY THE ROOM WORKS
Citron is concentrated on the bed wall. The neighbouring pale surfaces give the strong colour a clear edge without requiring more furniture or pattern.
The bed takes most of the width. Keep the remaining side route available and check the actual frame dimensions before borrowing the arrangement.
A small drawer keeps essentials nearby without the bulk of a chest.
Fitted carpet supplies comfort without a rug trapped beneath the bed and door.
WHAT TO BORROW
Tape out the whole bed frame, then stand beside it. Let the space left decide whether the room can take two bedsides, one or a small wall-mounted surface.
