Warmth starts at the floor
Camel carpet gives the first bare-foot step a softer landing than another small bedside rug.

ROOM 114 · Bedroom
A victorian townhouse upper floor, conceived for York.
The first step out of bed lands on camel carpet. Periwinkle surrounds the timber frame, while pale yellow bedding keeps the warmer colour close to the sleeper.
See the product sourcesTHE DESIGN
The first decision is underfoot. Fitted carpet supplies continuous softness around the bed, without two small rugs shifting beneath bedside tables. It also lets the timber frame remain a clear shape against an otherwise gentle lower half of the room.
The grooved headboard adds detail without requiring more upholstery. Greyed oak bedsides and blue lamps make each side useful, while sand and pale yellow textiles sit closer to the sleeper. Periwinkle stays on the broader surfaces rather than becoming another cushion to collect.
Cornish Cove offers a view of a different weather. It is a personal-scale picture, not a substitute headboard. The room's finish should be judged from the bed as much as the doorway: light within reach, somewhere for a book and nothing awkward on the way to the door.
WHY THE ROOM WORKS
Camel carpet gives the first bare-foot step a softer landing than another small bedside rug.
Periwinkle keeps the room fresh while pale yellow and sand sit nearer the sleeper.
The grooved timber headboard remains visible above the pillows.
Each sleeper has a reachable surface and light, rather than one photogenic bedside and one neglected corner.
WHAT TO BORROW
Stand at both sides of the bed in your plan. Check the floor under bare feet, the reach to the lamp and the route to the door before adding another textile.
